YUDO K3

2026-09-24 16:10:00

Vehicle Overview

The YUDO K3 is positioned as a compact 5-door, 5-seater all-electric B-SUV, tailored for urban commuting, young first-time buyers, and households looking for an additional runabout, highlighting its generous range, roomy interior, and strong value proposition. This represents YUDO's first all-new strategic offering since its inception in December 2015 and following JuneYao Group's takeover in 2022. It directly rivals 2023-era RM100,000-class EV contenders such as the BYD Dolphin, Neta V, and Geometry E.

In terms of dimensions, the K3 measures 4,035 mm long, 1,736 mm wide, and 1,625 mm tall, with a 2,480 mm wheelbase and a kerb weight of 1,320 kg. Boot capacity stands at 310 litres, which expands with the rear seats folded to easily handle routine grocery runs or weekend getaways. The model comes in several exterior finishes, including pink, black, and a two-tone white/pink. Pricing-wise, the car has not been officially launched in mainland China, where local media initially anticipated an indicative price bracket of RM80,000 to RM100,000. In Spain, the 325km Elite variant retails at 24,990 euros including taxes (approx. RM196,000).

Design Language

The YUDO K3 adopts a fresh design language drawing inspiration from the low, poised stance of a crouching rabbit. Up front, it features a closed-off grille flanked by a three-tier lower intake. The sleek, slim headlamp clusters incorporate LED projector units, combining with a full-width lower apron intake to deliver an aggressive, sporty, and visually striking front fascia. Along the sides, clean flowing lines and sharp shoulder creases blend with aero-efficient alloy wheels to convey a ready-to-pounce silhouette. At the rear, full-width LED tail lights, a sculpted tailgate profile, a subtle roof spoiler, and faux exhaust garnish integrating the rear fog lamps further accentuate its sporty intent.

Inside, the cabin takes on a clean, tech-focused layout. The cockpit features a digital instrument display alongside a dual-screen dashboard setup, headlined by a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment display. It is complemented by a three-spoke steering wheel and dedicated storage cubbies nestled between the centre console and centre armrest.

Powertrain & Performance

Under the skin, the YUDO K3 is powered by a front-mounted single permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) driving the front wheels (FWD). The production model delivers a maximum output of 70 kW (approx. 95 PS) and a peak torque of 165 Nm, uprated from the 55 kW projected during initial development stages. It completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.4 seconds and tops out at a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Developed in-house by YUDO, the electric motor offers smooth, linear, and responsive power delivery well-suited for urban stop-and-go driving.

Powering the motor is a 41.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack sourced from a leading Chinese battery manufacturer, achieving an optimised WLTC-rated pure electric range of 325 km. Average power consumption is rated at around 10 to 12 kWh per 100 km. On the charging front, the vehicle supports both AC slow charging and DC fast charging. Via a DC fast charger, juicing up from low battery to 80% takes roughly 45 minutes, while a full AC charge takes about 7 to 8 hours.

Chassis & Handling

Underpinnings-wise, the YUDO K3 rides on a setup comprising front MacPherson struts and a rear torsion beam, a staple configuration for urban electric SUVs in this segment. The front suspension effectively cushions road undulations to preserve daily ride comfort, while the rear torsion beam layout maximises rear cabin space and maintains body composure during cornering. It utilises an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system tuned for light, effortless manoeuvring at low speeds and reassuring stability at higher cruising speeds. Braking duty is handled by front ventilated discs and rear solid discs, paired with an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). It rides on 205/55 R17 tyres, striking a solid balance between grip, treadwear, and energy efficiency.

Cabin & Equipment

In terms of cabin appointments, the K3 focuses heavily on everyday utility. The infotainment system centres around a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone screen mirroring, Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates, and connected-car services. A multi-function steering wheel allows quick access to essential controls. For comfort and convenience, standard kit includes manual air conditioning, rear air-con vents, and a PM2.5 air filtration system. Audio is piped through a 4-speaker sound system, alongside 2 USB/Type-C ports shared across the front and rear rows. The seats are wrapped in leatherette with power adjustment for both the driver and front passenger, complemented by front and rear centre armrests as well as rear cup holders.

Safety & Driver Assistance

The YUDO K3 comes well-equipped on the active and passive safety fronts. The body employs a high-strength safety cage construction reinforced with ultra-high-strength steel in critical zones to preserve cabin structural integrity during an impact. Passive safety features include standard dual front airbags (driver and front passenger), while higher-spec export models add side airbags and curtain airbags. Active safety is standard across the board, featuring Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

For advanced driver assistance, the K3 comes equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite comprising Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), as well as front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. Everyday urban driving is made even more convenient with Auto Brake Hold and Hill Descent Control (HDC).

Market Performance & Verdict

Strategically, the YUDO K3 prioritises export markets. Having overcome previous operational hurdles thanks to fresh capital from JuneYao Group, YUDO leveraged the K3 as a strategic springboard to spearhead its brand resurgence and re-enter the mainstream EV market with a refreshed brand identity. Rather than launching domestically, the model made its debut in Europe badged as the "Yudo K3 325km Elite". In Spain, it is officially on sale carrying an on-the-road price tag of 24,990 euros inclusive of VAT (approx. RM196,000). According to VIN records, the car is a fully imported (CBU) electric vehicle from China, built to European CCS charging specifications. As of June 2026, the K3 has expanded across major European markets, including Spain, Italy, France, Germany, and Greece, racking up cumulative overseas sales of around 12,000 units. Crash test ratings from leading independent bodies such as Euro NCAP and IIHS have yet to be published for this vehicle.

In the grander scheme of things, the YUDO K3 marks a pivotal milestone in YUDO New Energy's brand revival and global expansion strategy. Capitalising on a dedicated EV platform, compact dimensions, and eye-catching styling, it made an assertive entry into Europe's highly contested entry-level compact EV crossover arena, providing a compelling case study of how Chinese carmakers can carve out a differentiated path on the global stage.
